This week, the 14th-20 November is Global Entrepreneurship week. The week celebrates and promotes creative individuals who are coming up with fresh, innovative business ideas and planning to start their own businesses. There are many people with great entrepreneurial skills, but most of them are often afraid of failure or put off by the long and sometimes difficult process of starting afresh. The week’s events are targeted at young people particularly, to encourage them take the first steps to forming their own careers.
There are a number of events going on all over the globe – conferences, informal coffee mornings, lectures, seminars and much more aiming to bring people together to meet, share ideas and problems or just learn more about the possibilities of starting up. For more information you can visit http://www.gew.org.uk/home.
On Thursday it is Social Enterprise Day – a day with events specifically for encouraging members of social enterprise to share and promote the message of social enterprise.
As we said in our last post, TUKcic will be getting involved in the campaign ‘Society Profits’ in the run up to Social Enterprise Day and are soon to be opening their TUKStore which will be selling fantastic, good-quality products made by local designers and artists to fund TUKcic’s community work. This is an incredibly exciting time for us and we are really looking forward to learning from our fellow social enterprises over the next few days!
